Sam Aisawa Owner and Chief Executive Officer

Sam Aisawa

Owner and Chief Executive Officer

Meet Sam Aisawa, Owner of Comfort Keepers

Sam Aisawa is the owner of the local Comfort Keepers® offices providing in-home senior care throughout Anoka, Ramsey, Isanti, Sherburne, Chisago, and Washington Counties in Minnesota. She brings more than a decade of experience as a caregiver, care coordinator, business leader, and home care agency owner.

Sam joined Comfort Keepers in 2013 after leaving a career in banking to help care for her grandmother. She began as a professional caregiver, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges families face when an older loved one needs assistance remaining safely and independently at home.

Inspired by that experience and her passion for serving seniors, Sam earned a degree in Health Information Technology. In 2016, she joined the Comfort Keepers administrative team, working alongside local founders Tom and Bev Berard and longtime team member Jeanne Anderson.

Sam went on to hold leadership roles in business development, client care coordination, caregiver support, and agency operations. In 2019, she graduated from LeadingAge Minnesota’s Leadership Academy, further strengthening her skills in senior care leadership, organizational development, and service to older adults.

These experiences gave Sam a broad understanding of how personalized care plans, dependable caregivers, clinical support, and responsive local leadership work together to provide high-quality in-home care.

In 2022, Sam was named President of the Anoka and White Bear Lake Comfort Keepers offices. On March 9, 2026, she became the owner of the local Comfort Keepers organization, continuing the mission established by Tom and Bev Berard.

Today, Sam works closely with caregivers, nurses, care coordinators, and operational leaders to help seniors remain safe, comfortable, and connected in the homes they love. Her leadership is guided by compassion, accountability, continuous improvement, and a personal understanding of the important role professional home care plays in the lives of older adults and their families.

Roxanne Scrivens is the Director of Operations for Comfort Keepers®, where she helps lead daily home care operations, caregiver support, scheduling, and service coordination. She brings more than 15 years of healthcare operations experience to her role.

As Director of Operations, Roxanne works closely with caregivers, schedulers, care coordinators, nurses, and other team members to help ensure clients receive consistent, responsive, and high-quality support. She also focuses on improving processes, solving service challenges, and giving caregivers the tools and guidance they need to succeed.

Jeanne Anderson

Director of Client Care

Meet Jeanne Anderson, Director of Client Care

Jeanne Anderson is the Director of Client Care at Comfort Keepers®, where she helps seniors and families understand their care options and develop personalized in-home care plans. She has been part of the local Comfort Keepers team since 2010 and brings extensive experience in scheduling, client services, operations, and financial management.

Jeanne began her Comfort Keepers career as a Scheduling Coordinator, matching caregivers with clients based on their needs, preferences, schedules, and personalities. She also supported the company’s bookkeeping and administrative functions.

Before joining Comfort Keepers, Jeanne managed H&R Block offices, where she gained valuable experience in customer service, team leadership, business operations, and financial management.

During her years with Comfort Keepers, Jeanne has held several key leadership positions, including General Manager. Her broad experience gives her a strong understanding of every stage of the home care process—from a family’s first call and initial care assessment to caregiver coordination and ongoing client support.

In her current role as Director of Client Care, Jeanne works directly with seniors and their families to listen to their concerns, identify their needs, and help arrange the right level of care. She understands that choosing in-home care can be an emotional and sometimes overwhelming decision, and she is committed to making the process clear, supportive, and personal.  Her combination of client care experience, operational knowledge, and financial leadership makes her an important resource for both families and the Comfort Keepers team.

Tom and Bev Berard Comfort Keepers Founders (retired)

Tom & Beverly

Founders (Retired)

Meet Tom and Beverly Berard, Founders of Comfort Keepers

Tom and Beverly Berard founded the local Comfort Keepers® organization in 2007 with a mission to help seniors remain safe, independent, and fulfilled in their own homes. They also wanted to provide dependable support and peace of mind to the families caring for aging loved ones.

Under their leadership, Comfort Keepers grew into a trusted local provider of personalized in-home senior care. Tom and Bev built the organization around compassion, dignity, accountability, and a commitment to treating every client and family with respect.

In 2016, Sam Aisawa joined the administrative team after beginning her Comfort Keepers career as a caregiver. Over the following years, Tom and Sam developed a strong working relationship based on their shared passion for senior care and their vision for the organization’s future.

As Sam gained experience in client care coordination, business development, operations, and leadership, Tom and Bev recognized that she was uniquely prepared to continue the mission they had established.

On March 9, 2026, after 19 years of local ownership, Tom and Bev transferred the business to Sam. Their decision reflected careful succession planning and a deep commitment to maintaining stability for clients, families, caregivers, and employees.

Although Tom and Bev are now retired from ownership, their influence remains an important part of the local Comfort Keepers story. The values they established continue to guide the organization’s approach to compassionate, personalized in-home care.

Tom also remains connected to the team and occasionally supports special projects, reflecting his lasting dedication to Comfort Keepers and the families it serves.
