Trusted In-Home Senior Care Serving Edison

Comfort Keepers In-Home Care of Edison.

Who We Are at Comfort Keepers of Edison

Choosing who comes into your parent's home is a personal decision, so it helps to know who you are actually dealing with. Comfort Keepers of Edison is locally owned by Jim and Anne Winn, run by a team of people you can name and reach, and built around a simple idea: care should lift a person up, not just get them through the day.

Why Jim got into this

What brought Jim Winn to senior care was personal: caring for his own father through a cancer diagnosis that needed help around the clock. He bought his first Comfort Keepers in Shrewsbury in 2013, with his wife Anne Hamilton Winn, an Occupational Therapist whose background in recovery and rehabilitation still shapes how we build care plans today. He acquired the Edison office in 2015, and has since expanded to Cherry Hill and Pitman. Today Jim's Comfort Keepers offices across New Jersey share a team of more than 300 caregivers, which means real depth and reliability when your family needs someone, while each office stays locally run. The part Jim still likes most is sitting down with families and figuring out how to actually help.

A nurse leads every plan

The thing that sets us apart is built into how we work: a Registered Nurse leads the care, not just an office. Our Director of Nursing, Brittany Minervini, RN, BSN, personally builds and oversees every care plan, backed by a second registered nurse, Lauren, RN, BSN, so there is real clinical depth behind your loved one's care. The nurse does the first in-home assessment, looks at health, safety, and fall risk, and listens for what actually matters to your loved one. From there she checks in every 30 days, writes a fresh plan every 60 days, and can come to a doctor's appointment to keep the care and the medical picture in sync. Most agencies cannot offer that level of clinical oversight as part of standard care. We do.

The team you will actually work with

You will not be passed around a call center. Your first call is usually with Kyra, our intake coordinator, who listens and sends you a written preliminary plan so you have something in hand before deciding anything. Once care starts, you have a dedicated Client Care Manager, Paula or Roxanne, as your one point of contact for scheduling, questions, and changes, so you never have to explain your story twice. Running operations is our General Manager, Cherie Rath, who has been with Comfort Keepers since 2011. And the caregivers in the home are Certified Home Health Aides, trained beyond the state requirement in safe transfers, dementia care, and fall prevention, and matched to your loved one by personality, not just the schedule.

What we believe: Interactive Caregiving

Comfort Keepers care is built on Interactive Caregiving, which means we do not just do tasks around a person, we engage them. It rests on four simple ideas: keeping the mind active, keeping the body moving, eating well, and staying safe at home. The point is not to fill hours, it is to keep your loved one connected and as independent as they can be. It is our piece of the Comfort Keepers promise to elevate the human spirit, and after years of doing this, we still believe it is what separates good care from care that just shows up.

Accredited, recognized, and accountable

Comfort Keepers of Edison is accredited by the National Institute for Home Care Accreditation (NIHCA), which means we meet rigorous outside standards for quality, safety, and professionalism. Our agency has earned the Comfort Keepers Operational Excellence Award and multiple Best of Home Care Provider of Choice and Employer of Choice awards, and Jim has personally received the Heart of Comfort Keepers Award for compassion and leadership. We also hold ourselves to a formal standard of business ethics and compliance. At WINNJAM INC, doing business as Comfort Keepers of Central Jersey and Edison, we keep to the highest standards of integrity in our practices and our care, and if you ever have a concern about conduct, you can call us directly at (732) 710-4289.

A few questions families ask about us

Who owns Comfort Keepers of Edison?
It is locally owned by Jim and Anne Winn, who acquired the Edison office in 2015. Jim also owns Comfort Keepers offices in Shrewsbury, Cherry Hill, and Pitman, so you get a local team backed by the depth of a larger New Jersey operation with more than 300 caregivers.

Is Comfort Keepers of Edison accredited?
Yes. We are accredited by the National Institute for Home Care Accreditation (NIHCA), and we have earned multiple Best of Home Care Provider of Choice and Employer of Choice awards.

What makes you different from other home care agencies?
A Registered Nurse leads every care plan as part of standard care, checking in every 30 days and writing a new plan every 60. You get one Client Care Manager as your point of contact, and caregivers who are Certified Home Health Aides matched to your loved one. That combination is hard to find.
