Walmart Saturday: Help Feed Seniors Now in Lubbock

Turn your Saturday shopping trip into an opportunity to support local seniors.

Comfort Keepers of Lubbock is joining Lubbock Meals on Wheels for Walmart Saturday, a community-wide Feed Seniors Now event taking place at all six Walmart locations in Lubbock.

Throughout the day, volunteers will greet shoppers at store entrances and provide a Feed Seniors Now shopping list. Shoppers can add one or more requested items to their carts while completing their regular shopping and give their donations to volunteers as they leave the store.

Volunteers will collect and pack the donated food into vans and trucks for transportation to Lubbock Meals on Wheels.

How to Participate

Participating is simple. Visit any of the six Walmart locations in Lubbock between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 10.

Pick up a Feed Seniors Now shopping list from volunteers at the entrance, purchase one or more items from the list during your shopping trip, and give your donations to volunteers on your way out. 

Feed Seniors Now Shopping List

Please purchase non-refrigerated, unexpired, single-serving items, including:

• Soup

• Small cans of tuna or chicken

• Individual Beanie Weenies

• Vienna sausages

• Individual oatmeal packets

• Peanut butter or cheese crackers

• Individual Chef Boyardee meals

• Individual packages of peanuts

These are the requested items for the Lubbock Meals on Wheels Weekend Meal Bag Program. Each weekend meal includes an entrée and four to six of the requested non-refrigerated, unexpired items.

Feed Seniors Now raises awareness of senior hunger while bringing the community together to support Lubbock Meals on Wheels. One in every six seniors struggles with hunger, showing why community efforts like this can make a meaningful difference.

For Lubbock families balancing work, household responsibilities, and the needs of aging loved ones, senior hunger can hit close to home. Walmart Saturday gives residents a simple way to support older neighbors who may have limited access to food on weekends.

Even one donated item can become part of a larger community effort to provide weekend food assistance to local seniors.

Another Walmart Saturday Is Coming in 2027

Can't participate in October? Another Walmart Saturday is scheduled for April 17, 2027, giving the Lubbock community another opportunity to come together in support of local seniors.
