Jordan Derby was raised by his grandparents. They showed him - through quiet, daily sacrifice - what it truly means to love someone. That upbringing is the reason he does this work. After more than a decade of public service and a career shaped by service in the U.S. Navy, he knows what it means to show up for others.

Jordan founded Our Futures Past, a nonprofit that brings generations together through free events at senior centers right here in Anne Arundel County - because he believes connection is one of the most powerful things we can give. He built Comfort Keepers Annapolis on those same values: a professional, well-trained team that treats every client like family. This isn't just a business to him. It's a calling.

Alexandra Carrigan, BSN, RN

General Manager | RN Supervisor

Alexandra grew up in a close-knit Filipino and Puerto Rican family, where caring for one another was simply a way of life. That foundation inspired her to pursue nursing and a career dedicated to serving others with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Before joining Comfort Keepers, she cared for patients while coordinating oncology clinical research at a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center. She also participated in public health initiatives abroad, partnering with underserved communities to improve access to healthcare and health education. These experiences reinforced her belief that every individual deserves exceptional care tailored to their unique needs.

She believes exceptional care begins by supporting the caregivers who provide it. By fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous learning, she empowers her team to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families while delivering personalized, evidence-informed support. She believes every person deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect throughout every stage of life.

Outside of work, she embraces every opportunity for adventure, whether that means exploring a new destination, discovering local cuisine, spending time in nature, or working toward her goal of visiting every U.S. National Park.

Shannon Jacques

Care Coordinator

Shannon is a caring and compassionate professional who has always had a heart for helping others. Raised by a strong single mother after losing her father as a teenager, Shannon learned the importance of resilience, empathy, and family at an early age.

A devoted wife and mother, Shannon married her husband a few years after high school, and they recently celebrated 26 years of marriage. Together, they have three beautiful children who remain one of her greatest joys.

Shannon brings warmth, understanding, and a genuine desire to support people in every interaction. Her natural empathy and caring personality allow her to connect with others in a meaningful way and make those around her feel valued and heard.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys reading and is known for finishing a 300- to 400-page book in about eight hours. She also enjoys simple favorites, including a good In-N-Out Burger whenever she visits the west coast.

Dania Castro

HR Administrator

Dania Castro is the HR Administrator at Comfort Keepers of Annapolis, where she manages hiring, onboarding, payroll administration, and the systems that keep the office running smoothly. With years of experience in business operations and executive support, she is often the first friendly voice new caregivers hear when they join the team.

Dania believes the way we welcome and support our caregivers shapes the way they care for our clients, so she works to make every step, from application to first day, feel personal and organized. Outside of work, she enjoys books, writing, travel, and learning languages, and has a goal of learning a new language every few years.
